Right now it seems the the sound issue when using the GPS is on, has been solved - but - you never know what happens tomorrow.
I will have the GPS on and se
I have a 10III.
I can confirm this for X10III. Also in Germany O2. (edit: 3G is off in germany)
A while ago I installed 4.5 over android 13 trying to solve echo problem on Xperia 10 lll.
I can send and it’s received when I use 4G. But my phone receives sms only when it is on 3G.
I will try again with Sailfish 5.0 later.
Upgrading to 5.0.0.55 from latest 4.6 went smoothly on my XA2. The browser update seems solid, and I’m glad hardware acceleration for video decoding still works.
Minor browser issues:
-
Had DuckDuckGo as search engine, but it no longer works. Selecting something no longer offers the option to search for it. Entering a non-URL expression in the URL bar doesn’t load it in the search engine, instead the native browser tries to load it as a URL. Setting Google as search engine doesn’t change behaviour.
-
Reddit videos no longer have audio. Notice that they are muted by default, but with 4.6 it was enough to unmute the embedded video player to have the audio played. Have reproduced this in another user account on the same phone with a pristine Mozilla profile. (This issue seems to be 32bit-specific, as users Xperia 10 II/III reported having no such issues.)
After performing pkcon refresh Chum was able to successfully install OSM Scout Server. Issue solved.
Anybody using SFOS forum viewer or Hafenschau apps? Both are unable to load any content on 5.0.0.55.
Had DuckDuckGo as search engine, but it no longer works.
same here on all my devices
I have a xperia 10 iii and i can’t sms or mms with the french operator Bouyguestelecom (reception is ok).
I test sending sms/mms with a other french operator and it’s ok.
Hafenschau works on my Xperia 10 V with SFOS .55. I installed it from Storeman, not Chum. I did not yet managed to get Chum running with OS 5.
Chum Hafenschau is version 0.9.8 and unable to load content, openrepos version is 0.9.9, on my devices this version works
sms are not going anywhere when sending sim1 but Sim2 sends… I tried 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. Receiving works with both sims.
Installing the WireGuard manually works perfectly.
Setting the configuration manually is more problematic, and the template is not intuitive. Wireguard has two main sections: [Interface] and [Peer]. The fields look mixed, and the descriptions are not intuitive for setting up the WireGuard.
Setting the WG VPN using the config file can be a bit confusing. The file needs the extension “.conf,” and its name is in the “VPN Name” field. Also, I found a bug: in the config file setting, the line "DNS = " is ignored during the import — it has to be set up manually during import.
Ultimately, I can confirm that WireGuard VPN works superbly (if you do not make any mistakes during setup).
is there any word on how long until a 5.0 flashable image is released for 10 III on jolla downloads?
also, sad news to hear 5.0 is still android11 for 10III. i was hoping the android connectivity issues introduced in 4.5 would be fixed in 5.0 by android13. (C2 is unusable in my region)
does anyone else on 10III who has the must-restart-aliendalvik-to-use-mobile-data-after-having-been-on-wifi-issue find that 5.0 fixes it?
Now I think I have problem with my other sim card, because I cannot call and send messages. Other card is working. I tried on both slots in two phones. I send message to my provider. Bills are paid.
same worked for me. I think it does not work if Sim1 is not present.
Never before official release. Mind you, this is EA release.
Tried it. Does not work.
I mainly use slot 1. But I tried to switch the sim slot, too. It does not work.
I had startpage as search engine. Also no longer working.
It does a whole lot, on a technical level.
It would make the concept of stop releases obsolete.
Nope, I denoted is simply what “stop releases” always were.
… on an upgrade path, or your SailfishOS installation will likely be harmed: This is exactly what I wrote! Maybe no so “wrong”.
What you seem to be confusing (and I see Jolla’s documentation is contributing to it) is a release (a.b.c) and a minor update to a release (“point release”, which increases the micro version number).
But nevermind, usually one will upgrading to the latest versions of each stop release anyway, but in general there is no technical necessity for that.
Tested Sony 10II to 5.0.0.55 version from 4.6.0.15 using normal desktop update routine. Mob was on but data via wlan. Progress&update ok and, phone, sms, wlan work ok. Same with android apps ok including bank. Block call numbers blocked call ok but forwarded to " answa
re machine" - telia prepaid one case.
anyway good one.
The upgrade process from 4.6.0.15 suggests removing PackageKit, PackageKit-glib, PackageKit-zypp, SDL2, aliendalvik, aliendalvik-configs, ALL-translations-pack, amber-mpris, amber-qml-plugin-mpris,ambienced
I’m surprised they are listed there. I’d expect them to be as of 4.6.0.15 - and indeed ‘zypper if’ displays them ‘up-to-date’.
Any idea what’s going on?
