[Release notes] Tampella 5.0.0.43 for Jolla C2

Light sensor tests pass after a fresh boot, reporting values between 23 and 16383. Adaptive brightness works, too, maybe the adjustment range appears a bit narrow to me.

I have run CSD tests now and then since I received the phone, and I don’t seem to remember the Light sensor ever failing. (Other tests have and still do.) My intuition would be that the on-boot behaviour/state is more relevant for this specific problem, than whatever happens during phone use, but I will keep an eye on this during the day.

Update went ok .29 → .43. But now I have no cellular network what so ever. Previously when you selected 2G then it connected to 4G and then dropped to 2.5G, now nothing. Pin code is asked OK and for short period of time I can see sim cards in the Settings but then it vanishes. Any ideas?

Maybe this was just user error. After several tries, I put the SIM to slot 2 and booted - suddenly I was able to connect to 4G. Put it back to slot 1 and now I can connect with that too, Nevertheless, something was wrong as I did not see any SIM cards in the settings for a while (so it was not just registering to network taking too long).

Can you post flypig’s thread here? I can’t find it when I search it. Maybe I missed smth that is described in it.

AppSupport is behavioring oddly. After closing one Android app and opening other. It will first opens last closed app. After closing it and re-opening new, it will open correct app. After re-start it works fine, but in some point it comes back.

Have the same issue after update to 5.0.0.43

Thank you for this (latest) update. It is now my daily driver for web and messanging (mail, instant messaging, calendar, web). I still have my old phone for things like banking.

I don’t know why, but although the latest VoLTE stack had not worked at the beginning (texting), it is now really stable.

Here you can find the thread about MicroG: Micro - G How to install?

Update was fine for me, but it took me a couple of tries and a reboot (no visible download progress).
For now, only using French SIM card (I’m in Finland)…4G VoLTE does not register (keeps blinking) but calls in/out are ok.
Most important for me is calls filtering with Fr SIM. Could someone confirms if it is supposed to be working with 5.0.0.43? As for now, all filtered calls seem to be getting through…

–Update–
Using Finnish SIM card, block numbers is working…thinking now my issue could be linked to the Fr SIM not being registered while roaming (???)

I had the same thing happened with a German SIM card in Finland. As soon as I went back to Germany, the „unregistered” SIM was registered.

One issue remains with the C2 when someone calls me there is just the ringing tone but no vibration at all even though it is set to all ways vibrate.
Did anyone encountered this issue?

:crossed_fingers: I’ll wait for next time I’m visiting France to get my Fr SIM card registered…wondering if it will remain “registered” once back to Finland…

I only came to AAS testing yesterday when I installed more than the one app I needed and which worked. With installation of postnord and peertube apps to test over the holidays I can confirm the most recent running app is started when I select one of the others from the grid.

There is considerable risk that your comments in this thread will remain unnoticed.

Please create a report in the Bug reports section, maybe using the Bugger app to help with the scaffolding. This will make the problem more visible, and a lot easier to track and discuss.

After last update I had this issue too, gone after reboot. Not sure how to reproduce, so can’t create a bug report either

Hallo, if I want to update to Tampella 5.0.0.43 I’ll be getting an error message: “package size cannot be determined”. Does anyone know the problem or has a solution?

Did you install anything manually? Anything other than official store? Patches?

Luckily there’s always reflash as a last resource.

I’ve just received my C2 yesterday. and then after setting it up, it just offered to update to this mentioned version. and then when attempting to get it installed it will produce this error message.

just checkt in system settings/product information, there it says “Build 5.0.0.55 (Tampella)”. So I guess this means that we are running a newer version as what is offered as update. So basicaly I guess that we are indeed up to date already and would not require to install this offered update. Infact I guess this would rather be a downgrade than an update…

Yes. But that does sound like a bug. Albeit a small one.
