It can happen if the update contains adaptation or basic filesystem update packages.
This then overwrites the config PM creates when installing.
A reinstall then creates them again.

After update I couldnât unlock phone with fingerprint anymore. Had to delete and add my finger again. Now it works.
So nothing major, just reporting it for others.
On the other hand, fingerprint worked just fine for me after update.
My phone was charging while installing the update. It went to restart, jolla - logo was vivible for some moments, I canât remember if I could see the Sailfish OS logo. Then it was stuck on black screen with green LED on for a while, then shut down completely. After two or three manual attemps to restart with same result, I was able to enter my pin and the update went through
by the time my newly arrived phone had booted up to a desktop it seemed to be running .17 anyway.
works very nicely.
Update installed without any issues in the process.
Only thing I noticed was that my Inari Blue Jolla logo led switch in the top menu went from off before to on afterwards. Iâm not sure if thatâs the tip of an iceberg or anything like that.
Update went smoothly. Default browser engine would be good to keep up-to-date as often as possible. Some pages complain that browser needs update. Even our darling forum page did it ![]()
What is the reason for the audio issues? Is it just the same as if I upgrade to pulseaudio-modules-droid 14.2.109 I lose all call audio and all media audio is only able to be routed to the loudspeaker? I.e.:
If so, is upgrading to 5.2 on any other device as simple as ensuring you stay with pulseaudio-modules-droid 14.2.106, or are there âvarious other packagesâ youâd also need to prevent from upgrading?
I experienced the same issue during the update while the charging cable was plugged in.
If only Jolla would recieve one Euro each time someone posts about his ââdiscoveryââ that forum complains about browserâŠ
I could plead guilty i maybe have posted a similar thing in 2018, i have to check that ![]()
Slightly arguably off topic, sorry, but some answers here for newcomers, before typing feedbacks:
That is normal, it does not remember the state and is on by default at boot.
Next browser engine update is already in the works, but probably goes to Sailfish 5.3.
Iâm not sure which packages would need to be kept back, and if that would even work⊠But we have fixes already for the other devices with newer Android adaptation base, i.e Xperia 10 III and newer, and those will probably go in the next 5.2 release.
EDIT: Doing a second reboot reactivated the camera ![]()
My Camera (Front and Back and Flashlight) seems to be dead after update. Anyone can confirm? If not, than it could be a defect hardware ![]()
After the phone rebooted for upgrade, the initial unlock screen was very dark, and it took me a few minutes to notice that it was waiting for unlock; the update progress bar was also nearly invisible. The unlock screen after the upgrade finished was normally bright again.
This happened to me, too, when I installed the phone after having it received in Helsinki. And this time again.
Unfortunately most of patches from Patchmanager doesnât work ![]()
Deinstalling and reinstalling Patchmanager should fix this problem just as described and explained here:
This tip is working great ! Thanks a lot !
Received my phone today (orange batch 1) and loving it, did the update right away and everything seems to have gone smoothly (tested appsupport and android apps, video and audio playback even in background and locked, front and back camera, ringtones and ambiances, some official apps and customized many settings).
Noticed only a couple of things which seem slightly suboptimal, youâll tell me if they are worth mentioning:
Sfos font size is not applied to websites and android apps;
Iâm unable to import contacts from .vcf file in people app
I donât think Iâve ever been more excited about a device before!
EDIT:
I was able to import my contacts from the same file by going through Settings » Apps » People » From Contact File.
People app might use a different function than settings?
I donât know if the Jolla Browser supports changing layout.css.devPixelsPerPx in the about:config, but if it does, changing the value to, for example, 1.25 should scale everything to 125%.
All of the official Jolla-apps, that has something to configure, are configured through the Apps-tab of the Settings.
