Problems flashing

I lost my xa2 and got a 10iii

It’s running android 13. I’ve read the threads concerning the need to revert to 11 or 12.
My problem is when run the sailfsih flash script and the phone is connected in fastboot hte script lists the device as : found unknown; HQ618…, baseband unknown,…
No valid device found.

Any help is appreciated.

Please read again. In short, you don’t.

There are many such reports, often also lacking a description of the environment (Windows / MacOS / Linux (which?), Laptop / Desktop-PC, USB2 / USB3 etc.).

BTW, please check under Android the exact device (model number) you obtained, HQ618 does not sound like a supported model.

P.S.: You may also follow my installation guide

The phone models supported by Jolla (i.e., those to which one can install Sailfish OS) are listed here: Supported Devices | Sailfish OS Documentation

Thanks for your reply. Yes I decieded to skip flashing android 11 or 12 for the reasons you mentioned.
the modelnumber of the device i own is … wait a minute, you might be right. I ordered a xq-bt52 I also checked in android but now it says: pdx123. I meanwhile did a factory reset… Contacted the vendor. Thanks for the hint.

Just for information. I have connected my Xperia 10 III (XQ-BT52, bootloader locked, on android 13) to my laptop (Ubuntu 24.04) by usb cable to usb2 port.

phk@Alpha15-A3DDK:~$ adb devices
List of devices attached
HQ618W1C0C device

phk@Alpha15-A3DDK:~$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0fce:520d Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB XQ-BT52

I never successed in flashing my xperia 10 III on my laptop. But I achieved it with my desktop (Ubuntu 20.04) (I reflashed it to android and relocked the bootloader because of a hardware problem with my xperia 10 III).

In fact, rereading the (useless) bug report I made about the microphone https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/xperia-10-iii-no-audio-input-from-microphone/13998?u=phklrz I can see that ‘HQ618W1C0C’ is the serial number of the device.

super strage device is called HQ619D11FE today when i ask fastboot

Maybe this is even less than a Serial Number, rather a Device ID which becomes newly set when performing a factory reset under Android.

As @phklrz denoted, the device model is a different string which also should be printed on the original package the Xperia came in (that was the case for all my Xperias).
