Which other client should i try with hydrogen?

I exchanged keys using element on the desktop (linux). But I also exchanged keys with the go client, gomuks GitHub - gomuks/gomuks: A Matrix client written in Go. which is a command line client

To be honest, i can’t remember the process well, but seem to remember it was a pita  The sailmates maintain a matrix server at matrix.sailmates.net … though, to be honest, I prefer irc and using oftc and the sailfishos channels.

I use also more then one clientclieny and have no issues between all of them. But only with SFOS native clients.

I was meaning not only me, btw.

I don’t need android, this is why I am here and trying tu use my Xperia 10III since like 2 years.

Not every question is complaining and whine. Just question maybe.

But I see. Will stop my questions, and wait with hope. Thanks for explaining.

I’d say this story is all about who is going to be nice enough to make a step towards the other.

For many people, having just one app (Whatsapp if they live in USA, Telegram in CIS, Kakaotalk in Korea, Line in Japan or Wechat in China…) is the ideal. They love that ‘one and only’ app paradigm. Many people do not want to ‘‘spam’’ their phones with many apps, and duplicate notifications and so on. So they would be very annoyed to install Signal or whatever Threema just for one friend. That is really an effort, and something that is disturbing their digital peace.

On the other hand some people only swear by their special loved privacy app and would be veeery annoyed to have a mainstream big tech app on their device.

It all goes down to: Who of the 2 friend will make the extra step to be nice to the other one, either the first friend filling his device with ‘strange’ apps just for that one friend, or the other friend accepting to install a mainstream app to please his other friends.

Maybe take the topic from the point of view of your friends also: If one of them told you he looooved Kakaotalk and will use only Kakaotalk, will you install it on your phone just to be a nice friend?

Last thing: privacy is a neverending spiral… Even if you put Signal in your friend’s phone, i guess you will also need to disable their notifications? Cause thats enough to be spyied  : Police Can Spy on Your iOS and Android Push Notifications | WIRED

I totally agree. But the price of installing an app differs. Some people install them with proper care and others for 2% rebate on things they don’t need.
