New binaries / blobs for Xperia V and IV : What is happening actually?

It’s not about jollyboys, when is any opensource project having a working sony IV/V build? Do you expect people raging at lineageos devs that sony provides non-working blobs? yet people rage at jolla, go to sony and rage at them, you bought their shitty hw, it’s between you and sony

You don’t seem to understand the joke. It seems that 3rd grade Sony A or B team software works better than Jolla 1st grade

It is always easier to point the finger … I have said this many times. Jolla guys managed to write history with the Harmattan 1.2 software. So they can solve bugs if they want to. I simply have the impression they do not want to, because well, they know it better.

your grammar is hard to read in many of your posts so i am not sure what you are talking about. anyway in case that blobs were fixed it is up to jolla boys eg:

My device freezes ~ 15 min after boot with v6a blobs. Display and buttoms became unresponsive and the phone got really hot…
Same bahaviour of v6a blobs with underlying Android 15 and 14, both the same freezing behavior with v6a.

Can you check the other points from the list “what don’t work”?
Camera is blocked by Jolla. But the battery status should work.
Is the modem now working (WiFI, Bluettoth and sim cards)?
I think the boot time takes a lot of time with old blobs.

I hope the problem with freezes can be solved by Jolla. It could be a problem with cpu/gpu handling.
When not, we will wait a lot of months again for a solution or we will look for an alternative for SFOS.

In my case battery indicator, wifi and bluetooth worked.
I did not test mobile connection with a SIM, so I cannot comment on that, but my screen is anyway to dim for outdoor use away from my wifi

Same problem for me. With SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_14_5.4_zambezi_v6a.img SIM card doesn’t work and device doesn’t have IMEI. Rolled back to SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_13_5.4_v4b_zambezi.img and SIM works.

Really. With SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_14_5.4_murray_v6a.img SIM card doesn’t work and device doesn’t have IMEI.

Sadly, no news about the blobs from Jolla at the community meeting earlier today. Only a mention that they will comment on the blobs at the next community meeting in a fortnight.

It makes much sense as it takes a few days to test properly.

Hi!
Did anyone has an extensive feedback with latest 6a binaries?

I am especially interested to know if headphone jack is now working.

If you read the topics about this in this forum you would know we have to wait for Jolla to build a new version around this. In most parts the binaries are not simply plug and play.

Yes yes yes i am fully aware.
I’m just curious of first feedbacks, i know its not representative of what will be the outcome after Jolla team irons Sailfish OS around those binaries.

Anyhow it could have been that people who tested these 6a on existing Sailfish 5 noticed that Headphone Jack worked for exemple, thats always a hint in a positive direction concerning audio😊

Well, what? Have they abandoned us with devices 10IV and 10IV? Thank you all, goodbye everyone?

Thank you. It’s all taking so long(((. The device is impossible to use on sailfish

Impossible? I use it as a daily driver, I just really miss the camera…

what about the speaker? I could do without the camera too)))

What is about the speaker? The stereo speaker are very nice even for music, a huge upgrade to the 10 II.

@balta so, you don’t have the random battery drain from bluebinder process?
In my case, it occasionally shows up and drains the battery. OK, we can kill the process and all, but sometimes, the battery could drop up to 20-30% before I even notice it.
