Multipos: the Social Media Meta-client

I’ve uploaded v0.9.12 to OpenRepos.

See the changelog on OpenRepos for the changes: Multipos | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System

Some features:

  • notification support
  • videos are now shown (but not played)
  • bookmarks for Bluesky
  • “last read” positions for timeline and notifications
  • RSS support

I want to point out that RSS support is experimental, is very rough and doesn’t work well together with the other timelines (in that the chronological order doesn’t make sense).

I’ve uploaded v0.9.15 to OpenRepos.

See the changelog on OpenRepos for the changes: Multipos | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System

Some features:

  • show author timeline on profile page
  • fix crash on certain (Mastodon) notifications
  • fix language issue on settings page
  • improve error handling for reactions and follows

The app is still quite rough but I should have most features in there for a first v1.0.0 release.

I’m eyeing the Qt 6 progress though since that would really help me with deploying on Android.
(if anyone wants on the beta-testers list for that: send me a DM (I will need the email you use for the Play Store))

Lost mastodon account after upgrade
i have one at social.vivaldi..
so not in inital combo in case that matters

Added again, works

First of all, thanks for taking it for a test run!

Second it’s curious that you lost the account. I’ve upgraded mine since forever and never had that (not that I dismiss your case! but just so that you know that it counts as a bug).

Just to confirm: you upgraded right and did not uninstall the app first?

the app order in app-starter grid says: it was an update.

So I just tried running my own app on both the Fairphone 5 and Xperia 1 IV ports and the keyboard doesn’t show up!

This makes it hard to add accounts :grimacing:

I will have a new release soon I hope and will look into this.

So now it isn’t anymore, is that what you meant? Why?

That is indeed what I meant, but the first version is still available: aerique/MulTiPos: A tool to write a piece of text once and post it to up to five social media platforms at once. - Codeberg.org

Because I don’t want some Silicon Valley asshole to turn it into a SaaS product and give nothing back.

AGPL?

GPLv3. Please. (ducks’n’runs).

I’ve uploaded v0.9.16 to OpenRepos.

I’m going to switch to Qt6 because Qt5 is holding me back too much for the Android versions. There’s too many hacks and workarounds needed.

Angelfish for Qt6 will probably be available on regular Chum (not testing) before I will get to my next release, so I’m not too worried.

Ideally it will be possible to depend on the required Qt6 packages from OpenRepos. Or I will move them to my repo there.

Changelog:

  • fix crash on some RSS formats
  • add buttons for flipping through images
    • the file picker is really awful (desktop Linux on mobile)
  • support more Bluesky notification types
  • support posting images
  • add buttons for sharing / “downloading” images
  • add button to close images
  • open Bluesky videos in browser or Bluesky app
  • make button shape and color more consistent
  • add zooming and moving of images
