I have been looking at GitHub - mer-hybris/geoclue-providers-hybris and GitHub - mer-hybris/geoclue-providers-mlsdb too, although it would be much easier if Jolla updated geoclue.
Just poking around but there is: /usr/share/GConf/gsettings/geoclue which is minimal at best:
[org.freedesktop.Geoclue]
gps-baudrate = /apps/geoclue/master/org.freedesktop.Geoclue.GPSBaudRate
gps-device = /apps/geoclue/master/org.freedesktop.Geoclue.GPSDevice
It seems beacondb has already a drop in replacement for MLS api, as stated here #5 - Using BeaconDB as a default geolocation service - beacondb/beacondb - Codeberg.org
Can this be used in SFOS by means of configuration, or does it need code changes?
Jolla has said that they introduce BeaconDB support with 5.1 update. I think it was mentioned one of the community meetings this year
Thanks, found this thread too Use BeaconDB as online positioning service - #29 by miau which covers the topic.
Sorry for the noise.
Once done by Jolla would be awesome if someone could backport it for 4.6. There are some devices that could still make use of it ![]()
Important topic, so noise is good thing ![]()
