Watch video that has them. Simple. If you open video in browser and list is empty beside “english autogenerated)” then there are no subtitles
Ok i see now, though not all videos have manually added subtitles, so having the option to enable auto-generated subtitles would be nice, but for some reason i have a feeling that implementing youtubes auto-generated subtitles isnt very easy…
But at the very least can there be a setting to always enable subtitles when watching a video?
No it would be actually simpler than getting normal subtitles, i was even wondering if I should add that… i guess option in settings wouldn’t be too bad
And how would i know what language to enable?
Ah, we’ll have to have a conversation about your coding conventions (ducks and runs …)…
Whatever do you mean?
Maybe save the last language used for subtitles and use that? Or you could have something in settings to select the language, maybe even get the language used in sailfish os
Not everyone uses sfos in their language (I don’t), and selecting language in settings would mean making giant list of languages that might not necessarily be complete.
Last used one could be doable
Ah, just kidding. I have too many broken bits to work on yours. But I would, if I could ![]()
Stupid questions: can’t you just use the locale setting? Qt.locale() ?
I also don’t use anything but English on computers but the locale function seems to serve?
But let’s say your os is in English and you want subtitles in your native language like Polish
I think it’s better to just make language picker with huge list, i already have huge country list ![]()
I could then tie that into js when listing/searching videos
Aaand what do you know… With the Sailfish 5.1 update, microTube can now play 1080p streams without stuttering even on an XA2, up to and including 60fps! Glad it wasn’t an issue with the app itself or with the device.
However, it looks like the 5.1 update broke live streams in microTube. They play for a few frames, then there’s an error about a mismatched package in “continuity”.
And when i said it’s problem with xa2 what did you say? yeah… look who was right all along.
Who’s right or wrong is not that important. I could also say i was right because same device now works perfectly, so it’s not the device after all. In my opinion, the most important thing is the issue is gone. That’s good!
Second most important thing is nobody knows why. That’s bad… It could return with next release for all we know. For the record, microTube’s video playing was never before smooth on the XA2, I’ve tested all releases since this app was launched.
It’s the port on that device, which i said as much.
Here we go again… If could well be a race condition that manifests on the XA2 without being limited to it, you never know until someone debugs the issue.
No, it’s quite obvious that xa2 is the issue. Also jolla recently has made some improvements to streaming (i was notified like couple months back) so that could fix the issue that only exists on xa2.
But I understand you have trouble admitting that you were wrong, most people do. But let’s move on now. Glad it works.
Is vp9 meant to work properly on C2? I noticed AVC1 was on by default and also that vp9 has some weird artifacts. The reason why I am asking is because scrubbing is not very reliable on AVC1, and I do have deno installed of course.
Not sure if C2 supports vp9 hardware decoding so I cannot answer that sorry
Is your max resolution set to anything below 1080p? That seems to be the culprit for vp9 artifacts on my C2
Yep, that was the issue, now theres one less problem with microTube that I have.
