I tested Xperia X, XA2 Ultra and Jolla Phone too, and they all do this. Jolla Phone is at 3.4 (naturally) and the rest are ate 4.5.
I can’t reproduce it on the Sony XZ2 Compact Community Port running SailfishOS 4.5.0.24. This unit has an 18:9 display with a 7-row by 4-column icon grid.
Could it be that some patch has enabled/disabled this behavior?
Absolutely not as I tested on vanilla devices.

I found something interesting. If you wait > 5’, the bug doesn’t appear.
Interesting. Maybe it’s something like an invisible horizontal scrollbar.
Don’t know if I tested correctly, but it’s not the case on 5.0.0.68 with X10-II. Waited 30 seconds and I still hit this bug.
Interesting that it happens only from Home. If I open the app grid from an app, the bug doesn’t appear.
I noticed this bug on Xperia 5 iv, but not on my Zenfone.
Might be an aspect ratio thing..?
I need to test it again, but I remember the issue being present on the Jolla phone too.
I noticed that this bug is still present on the new Jolla Phone in 5.2.0.13. I hope this could be fixed soonish as this may be pretty annoying for newcomers to SFOS.
