Integration with some good o.s. Android apps is problematic indeed. To my regret I have to use Threema on a Volla phone because video calls on a Sailfish phone don’t work well (no integration with camera). Tutamail was impossible for some years because Android support was stuck on Android 11 while Tuta’s app frequently gets updates.
Collaboration with likeminded companies is not a bad idea.
