[C2?] WiiM Home Android app can't find WiiM devices on network

REPRODUCIBILITY: always
OS VERSION: 5.0.0.29
HARDWARE: Jolla C2
UI LANGUAGE: Dutch
REGRESSION: maybe?

DESCRIPTION:

On the Jolla C2, running OS version 5.0.0.29, AppSupport API version 33, the WiiM Home Android app, which is used to control WiiM audio devices, is unable to find any WiiM devices on the network. For comparison, on the Xperia 10 II, running OS version 4.6.0.15, AppSupport API version 30, the WiiM Home app works perfectly fine and finds all devices on the network without issue.

PRECONDITIONS:

  • connect a WiiM audio device to your Wi-Fi network, for example, a WiiM Mini
  • connect your Jolla C2 to the same Wi-Fi network
  • install the WiiM Home Android app on the C2

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open the WiiM Home Android app.

EXPECTED RESULT:

After a couple of seconds, the WiiM device on your network shows up in the WiiM Home app.

ACTUAL RESULT:

The app never moves beyond the “Searching for your device” screen.

MODIFICATIONS:

Patchmanager, Chum, Storeman, microG (all of these are also installed on the Xperia 10 II which has no problems with the WiiM Home app)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This is all you see on the C2:

Can you access other resources on your (W)LAN? E.g. using an Android browser?

Thanks for helping out, could you give me an example of how to check? I’ve just tried going to my router’s address with Firefox for Android, and that seems to work, both with the easy URL (fritz.box) and the IP (192.168.178.1). How can I check if e.g. my computer is reachable from within Firefox for Android?

Edit: I installed an Android terminal app and used ping to check, and it works fine for both my computer and those WiiM devices. Even when ping is running and continuously telling me the device is pinging back, it still doesn’t show up in the WiiM Home app.
