Browser tab cannot be closed from address bar

BUILD ID = OS VERSION: 4.2.0.21
HARDWARE: Xperia X
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: Yes

DESCRIPTION:

up until now a browser tab could quickly be closed by hitting the menu and clicking on the white x button that appears in the tab count indicator leftmost on the address bar.
with the new design introduced with Verla, thar said x button does not close the tab anymore.

PRECONDITIONS:

a minimum of one tab open in Browser

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Tap on the menu icon
  2. Notice white x button appearing on the address bar
  3. try to tap it to close the current tab

EXPECTED RESULT:

The current tab closes

ACTUAL RESULT:

Only the opened menu closes again

feature, not a bug. It’s in release notes…

Idunno… seems somewhat accidental, but deemed an acceptable loss.
Turns out the button is covered by a transparent area stealing taps, not actually disabled, or removed.

So ironic. Until now i didnt know this option existed to close current tab. Now that i know, the feature is no more. :tipping_hand_man:

This is a feature I’d actuslly ptefer not to have . . .

Maybe I wouldn’t mind so much if it was easier.to close current tab from tab list, but current one is listed last! :frowning:

OTOH, tiled tabs in landscape view is a nice improvement . :slight_smile:
