I like that there is a working alternative for big tech…thanks for that…a lot !!
And I know that Jolla is al about swiping and gestures and the lot…
But I have a little handicap (paralysed hand) and that swiping takes a lot of control an do-overs.
So for me it would be a big big win to have those ´android button bar´.

If reaching to the top of the screen isn’t an issue, at least in the official Jolla apps, the glowing dots/circles at the top left and right corner of the screen, indicating you are in subpages, also works as back/forward buttons when pressed.

Tried and worked…
I hadn´t noticed that yet…kept swiping.
Another reasen was my phone ´bumper´ protection is partly over that part of te screen.
But nevertheless, it´s helpfull.
