I am experiencing a similar thing on my Xperia XA2 Plus. Every now and then I see the CPU sleep percentage drop to about 25% (with battery drainage consequences) where the usual “idle” sleep percentage is around 75%. The trigger for that to happen is usually a WiFi/cellular switch or disconnecting the phone from the charger. Putting the phone in flight-mode for a while usually helps to restore the normal sleep percentage again, otherwise a reboot does.
This never has happened to me on SFOS versions < 5.x.
For me it are the old familiars on the XA2: lipstick, sensorfwd, voicecall-ui. I have the impression that the Lipstick-problem has gotten worse if I enable screen rotation of the home screen, so I’ve disabled that. Still, it happens from time to time. Restarting homescreen helps.
Sensorfwd sometimes starts using slightly more CPU, and thus battery. Don’t know the trigger. Restarting the service from the console helps. Voicecall-ui seems somewhat less of an issue than before.
I haven’t seen issue with wifi and battery. But I do have the issue with wifi that, if it takes a bit too long to connect (due to poor signal), it has “limited connectivity” and thus no internet when it finally connects. That never happened on 4.x. Very annoying. And I wouldn’t be surprised if apps still try to connect, and fail, but keep on trying and cause some extra battery drain because of that.
Hmmm… I am using this new Jolla 2026 (SailFish 5.2.0.15 Finlayson) and i had also huge battery drainage….I put the AppSupport to OFF and battery last much longer. Hmmm… Now i am thinking to make some kind of script that if i close any android app it would also close or put OFF that AppSupport.
That sounds like it could do with some investigation, but you posted in the wrong place. Unless this has been discussed already wrt J2, you should probably start a new thread, providing as much info as possible.
