Although I doubt lipstick is the right service, I’d try it first:
systemctl --user status lipstick.service
There is the ofono service (telephony) which might be worth restarting as a test.
I’m not sure which services are running for you (try systemctl list-unit-files, it’ll be different for me since I’m on community) but maybe a pulseaudio related service shows up?
EDIT: errr, pulseaudio.service would be ,my first step, then, lipstick.
Thank you for your answer!!
It’s weird, because if I run ‘systemctl --user status pulseaudio.service’ from Terminal I get that it’s active (running). However, if I restart pulseadio.service, mic works again.
I hope Jolla can fix this issue, for some reason pulseaudio.service breaks after recording an outgoing call. Meanwhile, I can restart pulseaudio.service after every call, maybe with situations I can solve it temporarily.
Ok. That’s a good step. If we know that pulse is dying and it’s related to call recording, then it looks like the phone app or ofono is not releasing the hold on pulse (a dbus issue?). But, now I’m just speculating.
Then I would try restarting the ofono.service But it might make more sense to restart the dbus.service.
So, after the call recording snafu, 1) try restarting dbus.service. 2) if no change, try restarting pulseaudio AND ofono services. That’ll help narrow it down.
I use Call Recorder (harbour-callrecorder) and I tried with call recording of jolla instead, but I have the same issue. So it doesn’t matter if I use call recordings of jolla or Call Recorder
I’ve tested on 4.5.0.16 and it doesn’t work
Could anyone (@vige or @flypig?) add [4.5.0.16] to title? Well, it would have to be added [4.4.0.72] too.
Thanks in advance!
I’d rather not. We already know that the bug was first discovered in 4.2.0 and it hasn’t been fixed. Adding each and every release to the title just adds unnecessary clutter. As a sidenote, personally I would prefer if people used the actual tags for versions instead of cluttering the title.
Bug still is present on Xperia 10II / device adaptation 1.0.0.19 / OS build [4.5.0.19]
So disappointing having no audio-track to precious video memories … Often you won’t know about the absence of audio until you check it or someone gives you a hint …
Why not having the option of showing the current MIC-level in video mode ( i.e. before and while recording videos ) ?
I’ve been running into the same problem: sometimes videos are recorded with no sound (and the playback speed seems to be a bit off).
The microphone is unusable in that state by the Audio recorder app as well.
Very annoying to have ruined video recordings.
Please prioritize this issue!
CAN ANYONE CHECK / VERIFY THIS BUG ON XPERIA 10V / JOLLA C2 PLEASE ?
So we’d know if necessary to rocket this into top priorities. Thanks👍
Procedure :
• Start a phone-call and record it
• Terminate the call
• Start camera / audio-recorder app and record video / audio sample
• Play result of video / audio sample at full audio volume
• Completely shut down device by pushing power + volume up for about 20" until triple vibration
• Power up device
• Start camera / audio-recorder app, record new video / audio sample
• Play result of video / audio sample at full audio volume Share your findings. Thanks !
Always annoying still having to completely reboot the Xperia10II [4.6.0.13] to make 100% sure that audio / video recordings with native apps (such as camera or audio-recorder ) will work properly.
After patiently awaiting since years THIS BUG SHOULD BE RESOLVED - at least for the latest platforms.
Still VERY frustrating. Thanks for your understanding.
