I finally switched over from my old Sony Xperia 10II to the new 10III. Most everything seems to work, except the camera app no longer seems to have a selection for switching between the three hardware zoom levels (the three camera lenses)? I miss this feature…

Are you referring to “Sensors of tele and uwide camera lenses are disabled for now” found in [Release notes] Vanha Rauma 4.4.0.64? I’ll admit I didn’t understand this is what was implied here, has the reason for this limitation been made public?
