Xperia 10 II - audio not working

Hi, y’all. I recently purchased a cheap Xperia 10 II, and I wanted to flash SFOS on it (to use it until my 10 IV becomes usable under SFOS).

I flashed it from the Android 12 base, and the sound wasn’t working at all on Sailfish (neither the microphones nor the speakers).

I tried flashing back to Android 11 this time, and it was the same. I tried with Android 10 as a base, and it’s the same…

Everything is working normally on Android.

I figured I’d try downloading the firmware with Xperifirm and flash it with the flasher (Andrew suggested that some partitions might be corrupted), but Xperifirm is no longer working.

Does anyone have any ideas and can tell me what’s going on? Any help is appreciated.

I have no idea about Xperifirm but there is official Xperia Flash Tool.

Unfortunately that is Windows, xperifirm works with Linux.
I cannot tell for X10ii, but for X10iii and X10V xperifirm works fine under linux to get the correct Android up- or downgrade prior to SFOS flash.
I did not get the part: who is complaining about corrupt partitions? This must be fixed IMHO. Incorrect partition tables will not work…

Xperifirm is no longer working, I’m afraid…the developer failed to obtain the latest api or something like that. No one is complaining that there are corrupted partitions (everything seems to be working fine, at least on a first glance); it’s just something I’ve been suggested to check (while chatting in the SFOS telegram group) as a possible culprit.

I relocked the bootloader and will update the phone to the latest version officially, and will try flashing again.

That is really sad to hear, xperifirm was really nice.
I once also had problems with partitions that needed some fiddling to get solved, I cannot remember any details but your approach to go back to Stock Android with locked bootloader and booting this prior to next steps, is something I consider to be the correct oath, would also do this…

Okay…so I relocked the bootloader and updated Android all the way up to 12. When there were no more updates, I unlocked it and installed SFOS again…and, guess what, there’s still no sound.

What the heck is going on?!

Does anyone have any ideas?

What is the version of Sony Software binaries for AOSP you are flashing with?

The ones recommended by Jolla - SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_10.0.7.1_r1_v12b_seine

Do you think I should try flashing using a newer set of Android 10 binaries? Or maybe even Android 11, 12?

No, you should use recommended ones. Please check it twice that you do not mixed different versions up.

Nope…I definitely used the ones Jolla recommended.

I also tried flashing from another OS, trying out different binaries, and even removing encryption.
None of it worked. I’m beginning to think that this device has some hardware issues that are maybe not found in Android, but they’re there under SFOS.
