REGRESSION: Not occurring on 4.6.0.15 to my knowledge
DESCRIPTION:
X10III VoLTE started to register on network - although I had it disabled.
Still 12.2.2025 telephone used 2G for calling (suggesting because I still had ringing tones and calls were working robustly with no glitches whatsoever).
Then no calls for few days.
But 16.2.2025 I noticed that ringing tones had disappeared and a bit later I understood that VoLTE was registered. I have had option “Prefer 4G” always, but VoLTE I have not wanted to use, because it doesn’t work well for me.
My carrier is Elisa/Finland.
I need to use “Only 2G” setting for now - because that’s the only way I get 2G to register and thereby working calls. Telephone says “2.5G” as the network.
Can it be that the carrier Elisa would have done some “tricks” to their side to force VoLTE if telephone registering to 4G? Is it even possible?
I couldn’t anything of that sort when looking at their website and searching from internet.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
X10III flashed 08/2024 → upgraded until 5.0.0.55 → installed MicroG → using Elisa/FI carrier. I don’t know how to reproduce this.
EXPECTED RESULT:
VoLTE staying disabled when it is set to be disabled.ACTUAL RESULT:
VoLTE registers even though disabled.
MODIFICATIONS:
MicroG installed, but no other modifications.
I installed MicroG 6.2.2025 and this problem appeared 16.2.2025.
I think that 12.2.2025 I still had a normal behaviour with calls (2G with ringing tones). Then next calls where 16.2. when I noticed that ringing tones disappeared and understood a bit later that X10II had started to register itself to VoLTE (although disabled).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I have pretty much always had VoLTE disabled because I have never got it function good enough for daily use on my X10III;
- no ringing tones
- call dialogue can be delayed 10-15 seconds after tapping for a call
- calls may or may not succeed
- call ending can take a long time, ending dialogue feels like stuck from time to time
Above mentioned things render the telephone useless for me, I do NOT want to experience those things if I would need to call emergency number. Daily calls are nuisance enough like this.
Sorry about confusingly written text… and hope thisis not duplicate, but I tried to search forums - coming up only with problems to get VoLTE to register - I have a problem when I want it NOT to register
