Ok. Thanks! I will try that .
Yes, that did work. Thanks for your help!
@martinbook85 For future reference, https://whisperfish.rubdos.be/ is specifically made to track âknown issuesâ like this. (Iâll keep spamming the link until it shows up everywhere in Google
, and until the whole community knows it by heart!)
Hello,
I installed the Whisperfish 0.6.0-BETA-42-1 from OpenRepos on my phone and configured it as a primary device today. The registration wasnât a problem and the device also connects.
But anyhow, I donât see any possibility to send a message to a contact saved in the native sailfish address book.
It works to start a conversation from the menu by adding a Signal username. But I cannot see any possibility to start a chat with a person of my address book or by entering a phone number.
Do I overlook something or goes something wrong?
As far as I know only initiating a conversation with userbame is currently possible in Whisperfish directly. Every other way has to be done on a secondary/connected device
Any news on when this new version where logging in works drops on Openrepos?
I initially wanted to wait until it drops, but im getting more and more excited ![]()
Thatâs indeed right. Discovery by phone numbers requires a rather complex dance with attestation.
Our recommendation is to link at least one official Signal app (Signal Desktop on a computer, Signal Android, even on the same phone), such that you can initiate phone number conversations.
Iâm trying to fix a few more bugs before it happens, but given the number of people trying to add linked devices and not reading docs⌠should be asap ![]()
Hi there,
First of all - great app!!!
I wanted to ask if anyone knows the command to make Whisperfish run the notif-daemon in the background at all times? I remember finding it the first time I installed SFOS, but had to do a clean reinstall recently and canât seem to find it again for the life of me
Thanks!
