Weather app loses all locations

REPRODUCIBILITY: 50% (sometimes)
OSVERSION: 4.4.0.58
HARDWARE: Sony Xperia XA2 - h3113 - h3113 - 0.0.9.24 - armv7hl
UI LANGUAGE: English (UK) (user: en_GB, os: en_GB.utf8)
REGRESSION: no

DESCRIPTION:

It happened to me for the third time now, that the stock weather app loses all its locations. This became visible recently again after a restart.

PRECONDITIONS:

The weather app needs to be installed

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Set up a few locations in the weather app
  2. Use the phone normally
  3. Reboot occasionally

EXPECTED RESULTS:

The weather app does not reset itself

ACTUAL RESULTS:

It appears as freshly installed. ~/.local/share/org.sailfishos/weather/weather.json is se facto empty, just scaffolding with the “savedLocations” index.

MODIFICATIONS:

  • OpenRepos: yes
  • Chum: yes

How many locations do you use?

I was having half a dozen, maybe a few more. Usually i don’t remove places i been to, or have interest in.

Happened today again, with just one location. But apart of this, also:

  • browser doesn’t display mobile mode anymore (toggle desktop.version does not help) abd page functionality seems broken
  • Heebo lost highscores
  • some new emails are shown as “no subject” “no content”, and opening them only shows a blank page
