Installing Sailfish on an Android phone without a PIN was not a problem. Below some notes (basically what you wrote here and the instructions). As I prefer XA2 this “new” “10peria” is for now a spare device.
Reflash for e.g. Jolla Xperia 10
-
follow https://docs.sailfishos.org/Support/Help_Articles/Reinstalling_Sailfish_OS
-
revert back to Android:
- via Emma (chapter 1, Option 2 of https://jolla.com/sailfishx-windows-instructions/
- check if things work under Android
-
install Sailfish X:
- install fastboot (chapter 3, https://jolla.com/install-sailfish-x-xperia-10-windows/)
- dl (correct Sony Xperia 10) from https://shop.jolla.com/downloads/, about 1.3 GB
- dl ‘SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_9.0_2.3.2_v9_ganges.zip’ acc. to chapter 5 of
https://jolla.com/install-sailfish-x-xperia-10-windows/ and put in Sony stuff above - follow chapter 8 of https://jolla.com/install-sailfish-x-xperia-10-windows/ and
do ‘flash-on-windows.bat’ → Flashing complete
(had issues with volume-up connection as initially one side of the USB cable was already
attached, both ends must be unattached otherwise it won’t go into e.g. ‘blue-LED-state’)
