DESCRIPTION:

When trying to pair with my Ford Mondeo Car stereo via Bluetooth I am unable to enter the PIN code that the car stereo is displaying in order to pair with my mobile because the keyboard isn’t being displayed so I cannot enter it.

PRECONDITIONS:

Bluetooth on, a car with a stereo with bluetooth on.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Switch on bluetooth
  2. Search for devices
  3. Pair with car stereo

EXPECTED RESULT:

When prompted to enter a pin once the bluetooth has been established the keyboard needs to be displayed or popped up so you can enter the pin code that is being displayed on the car stereo

ACTUAL RESULT:

Unable to pair with car stereo as the keyboard never displays.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

(Please ALWAYS attach relevant data such as logs, screenshots, etc…)
I have paired with the same car stereo on previous versions of Sailfish upto 4.1… using the same mobile and car/car stereo.

I tried a restart and that didn’t help nor did turning off the car stereo and trying again.

as a workaround you can try bluetoothctl from the terminal (it is in package bluez5-tools if I am not mistaken)

Thanks for the feedback I will give that a try.
