Something will be here tomorrow

“Something we defined together is almost here.” is on the front page, together with a countdown timer to tomorrow. I was already excited for pakjesavond and now I can expect even more. Anyone has any information about what it could be?

(Perhaps an updated preview for links to the site on this forum? j.k.)

I think it will be the start of some kind of pre-order-campaign for the Jolla C3. They asked here for wishes for a next Jolla Phone.

I think (hope) it’s not a C3 but a J2… So a new real Jolla Phone instead of an adapted other manufacturer model.

Those days are long gone, like when Nokia did every in house. For Jolla that is not realistic and the manufacturing is done by a third party. Jolla can spec things when it comes the phone and third party manufacturers can operate with certain boundaries. This nothing new and several other smaller phone vendors do this, like “Nokia” today meaning Chinese Nokia branded phones.

What is important is that Jolla has full control over the SW stack now and not dependent on some other, like Sony.

Almost certainly it is an announcement that Jolla will fix one of the 10V bugs mid way through next year.

I’m full of excitement and hope to take a break today at work 14:00 CET to see the announcement. I’m not sure on time to market, but it would be awesome seeing the device on FOSDEM early next year!

Sorry, seems you misunderstood me. C1 and C2 were rebranded phones, not developed by Jolla. So a hopefully J2 - as we expect because of the community “choices” will probably be manufactured by a third party company, but not developed - so a real Jolla Phone 2 instead of a rebranded third party developed phone.

Yeah. I get the feeling that they accidentally DDOS’d themselves by letting the page automatically refresh at the end of the countdown, who knows how many had this page open.
