When I look for documentation, a natural place to look is here:
This place is a very, very bad place to look for information.
Multiple times during the development of my app, I lost a lot of time searching for a solution, because the documentation is not complete. Wasting time with bad documentation is a good way to piss off new app developers. Yes, I am a bit angry at the moment.
This is the 3rd time. All together I wasted multiple hours. In the end, AI could tell me what I needed to know.
InteractionHintLabel is in the IDE documentation. Not on the website.
TouchInteractionHint is in the IDE documentation. Not on the website.
Please delete the web page, so we don’t look there anymore, if we are supposed to only look up stuff in the IDE.
I finally learned the lesson, after many wasted hours.
I’m sorry for the confusion caused, the documentation on the website was indeed out of date for a lot of things. It has been updated today to match the Sailfish OS 5.1.
That said, hadk.sailfishos.org needs a lot of work. It’s also seriously lacking in documentation leading to months of one’s life spent trawling IRC logs / hadk-hot etc. to find what you need to port with modern Android bases.
It could be, but that is probably quite a big task to ensure all the URLs stay the same, redirects works. And whoknowswhat kind of custom bits there are sprinkled around that are outside the common markdown. For readability just tuning the CSS might be easier.
Yes, that is very much true. It’s just nobody has had the time.
