Just tested with the 10 III:

  • dial
  • take phone to ear → screen goes off
  • take phone from ear → screen goes on after one second
  • take phone back to ear → screen goes off.

Maybe it’s a XA2 thing?

Maybe the hall/proximity sensor is disfunctional?

Can you check with CSD tool?

I sometimes have the same problem. Experienced this on XA2 and 10iii. I think it depends on how you are holding tge phone during a call. When answering a call i just press the power button to turn of the screen. Problem solved.

You’re holding it wrong

Exactly that sentence came to my mind, when i wrote my last post :grinning:

Sounds reasonable. I remember now, holding the upper part of my XA2 esp. near to my ear.

Just did the experiment with my 10 III: If the upper part is not near my ear the screen activates after one second.
I think, that is where the proximity sensor is placed.

So I found info on CSD tool, and conducted a test on the proximity sensor, which ended up red as in FAILED. I have since restarted the device, and the test passes, and I can say the screen also properly goes off. So either an intermittent bug or some race.

Thanks everyone for tips.
