So 0.3.0 is not working swype wise at all for me.
I’ve restarted, switched keyboards and no joy: ![]()
X10 III
Did you download the FUTO Swipe content already?
For me with 0.3.0 swipe recognition is very much improved, but I have a feature request: can vibration while swiping be tuned waaaaaay down? Right now it vibrates from start to finish of the swipe action, whereas OKBoard only vibrates at the beginning of the swipe.
Also, if you select to have the number row at the top, it now partially overlaps with the keys below, no matter the vertical size of keyboard you set (I’m on an Xperia 10iii).
Yep, it was working fine with previous versions
@Orologiaio fix incoming, easy fix
@lakeboy, there have been some changes to the swipe functionality. I’m missing details like which language are you using? So you’ve already downloaded the Swipe content from the Content Downloader?
@HtheB Thanks alot, the new swipe works much better with german language. Awesome work!
Ahha - now I see the difference. I just downloaded Swipe and now it’s working.
I assumed it would be the same moving versions, but you have made some significant changes.
Thanks!
I’ll turn off swipe entirely if the content is not downloaded to avoid confusion in the upcoming version
Thanks HtheB, it’s working better and better.
One thing: pressing space picks the most probable word, but this does not seem to be the word highlighted in the top bar.
Also, setting the words suggestions to “4” words, I see it’s actually autocompleting with words not in the suggestions.
Example: “how are you doin[SPACE]” completes “doin” to “down”, which is not suggested.
Seems to work now, thanks! Trying out the Persian and Arabic keyboards, I noticed they’re using the Latin script keyboard symbols. E.g. the comma is the Latin-script comma, instead of the Arabic-script comma. On the Persian keyboard, it seems like you’re only able to enter Persian numerals with the number row enabled, and alternative letters or forms don’t appear on long-press.
Another developer, AliNa, once made excellent Persian and Arabic keyboard layouts, so if possible you could just copy those. This is what they look like:
Note also that the letter ‘ژ’ doesn’t appear on AliNa’s Persian keyboard, it’s shown as an alternative form for the letter ‘ز’. I think it makes sense to do it that way, because it’s fairly infrequently used, and that’s also how it works on regular computer keyboards. Not to mention the bottom row otherwise gets pretty cramped.
Swipe is significantly better now! Thanks!
Does anybody know how to dismiss ‘Authentication’/‘Use saved login for …’ message when I don’t want to authenticate?
Btw, this ‘Use saved login for …’ show up no mater if app wants to authenticate, moreover it does show for apps executed in background too. And keeps reappearing any time the keyboard is activated. Looks like a bug to me and is extremely annoying.
You can turn it off in the FUTO Settings > Privacy and Learning > Offer to save passwords
Could you please explain how the password manager works? Does it only store the passwords or is it capable of autofilling?
I also got caught by that new required download.
there is no ‘copy’ button for e.g.: copying the URL in sailfish-browser. copy/paste bar only appears in default keyboard for me
Swiping in German works way better now! Thank you @HtheB !
When I mark an URL, it is automatically copied and I can past this URL with the FUTO keyboard then. What exactly are you missing?
I run into a few other issues.
While swipe-typing within android apps (at least with WhatsApp):
- drag the finger on spacebar to move the cursor doesn’t work (nothing happens)
- when picking a word correction from the suggestion bar, the first letter of the original word is not removed (for example, I type “test” but actually meant “treat”, I pick it from the suggestions, the final result ia “ttreat”, the first letter of the original word is conserved).
While typing this post in the native browser, instead, the whole word is conserved (“test treat”, both words one after the other).
In both cases, this does NOT happen when you type normally, without swiping.
I can’t reproduce this. Where exactly does it happen? On all text input areas or specific ones? Android Apps? Native apps? Which firmware are you on and which device do you use?
