I tried contacting Jolla through shop@jolla twice regarding the possibility to return my device. Once on 19th July and the second time on the 22nd. There has not been a response to date, not even a receipt confirmation.
So I’m asking if there are other ways to get in contact or if anyone would be willing to buy my Jolla at a reduced price.
Hi,
They will answer you, if they have time before someone buys your phone
Last time that I read something about that, they said they had some weeks (>3) of delay, because of the amount of work in regard to the Jolla Phone 2.
I’m willing to go down from the MSRP as it’s of course already opened and powered on, I’m open for offers. I have the orange phone, clear case, and glass screen protector (already applied), the Inari blue toh is currently in the post.
To my knowledge in Finland as long as you have contacted company about the return before the return window closes you should be good.
Though many bigger companies don’t accept returns of powered on devices. I have not looked closer is that against the law. In my opinion it’s insane that we have 14 days time to test the product, but how can you test a phone without powering it on.
But don’t know Jolla’s policy on this, but I’m sure they will do things right.
Also, as someone said. Maybe faster to sell it to someone if you need the money fast.
Exactly my thought! Plus there seems to be quite a few invidiuals who would like to get the device before October/November
Edit. Can I ask, did you find the setting up the device to be too hard or was it the kinks in some apps etc? Personally I’m not tech savvy at all, but once you get through and get all your apps running, it is smooth ride.
I sent emails to Jolla regarding my order on the 6 of april. I was charged VAT even though my company isn’t supposed to. I have not recieved an answer yet, it’s soon 4 months. I can’t book the procurement properly for tax agency unless they return the VAT.
The device setup itself was alright. I actually quite liked the sailfish UI.
Problems came when I was trying to get all my old android apps working. Some worked nearly flawless, some were very buggy and for some there is no Hope of them ever working due to Google/sailfish conflicts.
Thanks @Hendrik_Schuermann for posting in regards this topic. Let us address the topic generically as the answers will be helpful to others too and echo here in the forum:
Jolla has a 30-day return policy (after receiving your item) as described in the Jolla Shop, please see here Refund policy – Jolla Shop .
The house rule is that the device is in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. Powering on the device is naturally allowed so that you have had the chance to try to the device
In favour of the process speed, we have changed recently that all EU customers now get a return shipping label automatically included in the original shipping (i.e. the label is in the package customer receives the device). Non-EU customers we still kindly ask to contact shop@jolla.com so we’ll generate the return shipping label.
I think we’d all be really interested to hear what Android apps you had issues getting working. There might be workarounds known in the community that could be shared to resolve it, or at the very least it would provide the fine folks at Jolla some good actionable information on what really needs to be squared away. Might even be some intrepid community members interested in building apps that’d help your usecases too (see for example the thread at App ideas to develop for Sailfish OS)
Transition to another OS can be frustrating. It requires some relearning and migration effort. If you value no data sharing by SFOS that might still be worthwile.
Instead of insisting to use Andy apps there are many native apps so you might try them. Or report issues and might even receive solutions.
I would not say that thete is no hope because of Andy/SFOS conflicts. That gap is narrower and narrower.
