[Patchmanager patch] Statusbar in apps, with clock

Following my not-contributing to the community, yet another patch. This one pushes usable screen space below the notch and adds statusbar content there. It also allows clock to be placed where it always should have been.

This version allows showing statusbar on tap around notch in JP2026.

Latest version: 0.2.0-66

OpenRepos: Statusbar | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System

Patchmanager Web Catalog: Project: sfos-patch-status-bar

It works on JP2026 only, but can be (and will be, soon™) ported to other devices.

Thanks for this wonderful patch. I couldn’t test it yet, but maybe later.

Two questions come to mind:

  • Does moving the clock position give that vertical space back to the launcher app covers? Do they move up by that many pixels? That would be a win.
  • Could always showing status-bar content in the notch area lead to burn-in effects in the long term? Maybe a warning should be added for OLED devices.

Nice! Much better while in apps, but option to have the bg enabled on homescreen would make the transition less jarring (atleast with pure black bg).

Also, would it be possible to see te clock while peeking from apps like it is by default?

(another option would be to make a patch which would just move everything down below the notch but keep the stock behaviour otherwise, but thats a whole other thing)

Hmm…. I can’t activate the patch, it just fails.

Edit: Okay, fails because it is not compatible with “Show Sailfish Status in AppSupport Notch”, but your patch do the same, so perfect.

Thank you!!

I’ll add a fede-out or nudge around in next release

Regarding reclaimed space - I’ll look into it.

That’s a bug indeed, will work on it in next version  Thanks for catching that.

It also conflicts with ‘Larger clock font on homescreen’. Maybe make that clear.

It might, I don’t test all patches out there. And no, I will not check all patches in the wild, but thanks

Would be nice if there would be an option that doesn’t show the Statusbar in landscape Mode (for watching Videos)

Added in latest version :slightly_smiling_face:

Ah see it😅 but sadly it doesn’t work

0.1.1-45? In which video player? I tested with videos in AAS YouTube, as well for non-video apps which don’t use Page.qml (Pure Maps, Terminal).

Yes via Patchmanager.
On all Apps (Native and Android) I have the Statusbar in Landscape.

Can you test Storeman/OpenRepos version? I’ll look into Web Catalog version soon.

With Storeman Version it works

New version released

0.2.0 - you can disable page dodge and enable stausbar on-tap only.

Somehow I don’t get Launcher Search List patch to work. It seems to be active but no search available. What might be wrong?

I’ve often rebooted the phone (sometimes twice) after enabling patches. I know it is not necessarily needed, but I have the Launcher Search List -patch running and functioning well.

0.2.0 Status Bar in apps is working well too and the added ability to control if it pushes applications content below notch, is great! It opens almost 5mm of screen space for navigating (but remains immersive as the native applications yet with the added clock for when reading while on break). I have background opacity set for 5% and Gradient fade to 40px, and this is just enough to make the symbols and clock to feel like they “glow” on top of everything.

You need to either swipe to the left from app grid OR scroll the app grid till the bottom - a new icon (magnifier :magnifying_glass_tilted_left:) should b there.

Thanks now I got Search button to bottom of app grid. Swiping to left in app grid doesn’t do that action for activating List Search.
