OS 4.4.0.64 still shipping with 2018 SF3.0 ad video

HARDWARE: Xperia 10 III

DESCRIPTION:

Not really a bug perse, but it just doesn’t make it feel like the OS is very ‘fresh’ or maintained if you ship with a video that is so obviously outdated (because its an ad for the previous 3.0 release which was then still to be released). If you’ve just bought the latest release of a product it makes it feel dated. It’s a minor detail, but I think not having the video would give a better first-time-user experience.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Do a fresh install of 4.4.0.64
  2. Go to gallery / videos
  3. See Sailfish_OS_3.0.mp4

EXPECTED RESULT:

Either an up-to-date video or no video at all

ACTUAL RESULT:

Unneccessary, outdated, no longer relevant advertisement taking up space in my home dir.

Actually, it’s a “feature request”. As you said it’s not a bug, so I take the initiative to change the category.

It doesn’t give a company a serious image.
It is not properly a bug in a computer meaning but should be removed/changed without too big delay.
From that p.o.v., I’d keep it as ‘bug repport’, just not to forget it.
