Opening a new private tab doesnt bring up the keyboard

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 4.5.0.18
HARDWARE: Tama Port (irrelevant)
UI LANGUAGE:QML (probably)
REGRESSION: Most likely no since i never remember it working

DESCRIPTION:

The keyboard doesn’t come up when you open a new private tab

PRECONDITIONS:

None

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open the browser
  2. Tap the menu icon (horizontal lines on the bottom right)
  3. Tap open a new private tab

EXPECTED RESULT:

A new tab opens and the keyboard shows up

ACTUAL RESULT:

A tab opens but you have to tap the address bar to get the keyboard to show up.

MODIFICATIONS:

None.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

When you follow the same process and open a normal tab the keyboard shows up.

Heh, not exactly what they meant here… But arguably more relevant.

For me it seems to be when the new tab also makes the browser switch mode, regardless of which mode it is switching to/from. Well inside private mode it works fine.

What i described is the only way it doesn’t work as it should. I think at least.

To me it seems to be related to whether there are already open tabs in the mode we are switching to. If the new tab is the first one, the keyboard does not show up.
