DESCRIPTION:

I have a UK SIM card (on the ‘3’ network). In the UK this works, mostly, with Android apps (see numerous other bug reports on this) and always with native SFOS apps.

At the moment I am in Madeira connected to the MEO mobile network and roaming from the UK ‘3’ network. All native SFOS apps have access to mobile data, but no Android apps do. If I connect to a wireless network, say in the hotel, then data connectivity is restored tor Android apps. If I go outside the range of tbe WLAN, native apps are still online, but Android apps simply report ‘No network is available’.

Restarting the network from settings/utilities makes no difference. Restarting Android makes no difference. Rebooting the phone makes no difference. Setting IP, or IPv6, or Dual makes no difference.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1.Go to Madeira, or maybe any other non-home country
2. Make use of a home country SIM card (‘3’) on data roaming (MEO)
3. Try to use mobile data in an Android app. It doesn’t work at all.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Android apps can use mobile data whilst roaming

ACTUAL RESULTS:

Android apps have no connectivity whatsoever when roaming and there is ni obvious thing for a user to do to fix this.
