Curious if anyone is planning to create some new Sailfish OS video content?
When I search for “Sailfish OS” in YouTube, it seems that Continuum Gaming is the only ”Sailfish OS” creator. I like what he does but I also think there is room for more.
Also interested in content on non-youtube platforms.
Anyone got any plans? I certainly don’t! I crumble when you stick a microphone in front of me.
Plan was to just tour the OS, and give my experience with it as a main device for the past 3 - 4 years, and give some reasons to try or switch. Mostly targeted to newcomers
Why not both? IMHO, it’s fine to reach out to people on YouTube but I’d be happy to join Peertube or others if given a reason to do so. Currently, I don’t have any exposure to other video platforms (apart from Odyssee).
Because if you want to promote sailfish and hopefully help Jolla get new customers, this is the best place to do so (not exclusively of course).
Otherwise we can be sharing videos amongst ourselves here and that’s about it.
I have not seen anything worth mentioning at YouTube, other then videos from Laura Malvoyante and Jolla themselves.
But then again, I guess I will never ever make a video and even less a video channel on any platform…
I just wish the ones promoting SFOS good luck and that they reach the right audience…
I spend less than 5 minutes a month on YouTube. We have banned it for our kids, and I think it is loosing its importance. It might be banded in Norway for kids under 16 years as a social media.
My biggest hope is that app development picks up and that we can tell “We have an app for that”. A native one! That will bring us new users… Teaching them better ways to use the phone should be on other platforms then YouTube.
This is of course accessible through Lemmy and other fediverse social media applications.
If you haven’t joined the fediverse yet, make this your entry point. User numbers are growing and it’s not as techy as its reputation. Just social media. With communities of all kinds.
You don’t have to use piefed.zip to register - find your instance, register, and join this community regardless. Even from Mastodon if I’m not mistaken.
Because Peertube isn’t a platform like YouTube. It sucks IMO. I would use another platform than YouTube in a heartbeat. But such a platform doesn’t excist. The whole fediverse is created for small niche things. It isn’t a great platform for all.
