Motorola Edge 30 Neo - port from VerdandiTeam

The port actually works quite well - i will test it further in the next time.

Will there be also an update to 5.1? and later 5.2 (to finally get a decent browser?

Double tap to wake up would be also very nice. The android version was able to handle this.

Flashing was also easier than expected (was my first custom flashing) and worked without problems.

Thanks a lot for the great work.

Cheers,

Andreas

There already is confirmed well working 5.1 version but i’m using it to test one thing right now and i didn’t have time to clean it up for public

that’s complicated, the driver is broken, I’d have to modify mce to handle that, way too much headache

yeah miami is quite easy in this regard

hope you enjoy the moto gestures

I didn’t know that Miami was on your list, I have a sailfish on a titan and looking on your verdanditeam page to see the victara, I see that it has the miami. What a joy to know that it is going to have an update, it is a very comfortable device. Thank you very much for your great work.

Heyo! Was able to set up the port without too much difficulty, though first time flashing so had to figure out some of the steps a bit; and took a while to get Motorola to give me the OEM key.

I have a couple Android apps I want to run that don’t have great SFOS ports yet, and from what I can see, I need to purchase the SFOS license to install & run Android AppSupport. I wanted to check if there are any other options for an Android sandbox that I may have missed, and/or make sure that AAS works before purchasing it.

(And, as a part of that, making sure I’d be able to access F-Droid / Aurora Store? Though if not I can probably find APKs for most apps)

Did my best to do due diligence research for options - apologies if I missed anything obvious, and feel free to just link me instead of re-explaining if there are any resources ^.^

Thank you for the fantastic work with this port, I’m enjoying my dive into it.

That’s only for official devices.

nope

there’s waydroid but it’s not yet supported (will be in the future)

Hi,

deactivating the flight mode does not work properly. It stays in flight mode and pressing the button (from the top menu) a second time show “in progress”, but has no effect. If you need logs or something else, please tell me.

btw: i have no sim card in the phone - i am so far only using wifi for testing.

Cheers,

Andreas

For me its working. I also have no sim currently

Say what you will about LLMs but it did something nether me nor mal thought possible:

WIDE ANGLE CAMERA FIXED

And denoising/sharpening DISABLED!

zypper ref; zypper dup ← for massive camera quality improvement!

Hello, nice. But shy was denoising disabled? The pictures are so much worse than before

Because without deonoising pictures are so much better than before

For others who don’t see glaring difference.

Because of the denoising, detail is lost. A lot of detail. That’s why it was disabled.

“You can’t add new information through post processing, you can only distort it whenever your guesses aren’t well informed and Edge 30 Neo is a phone that certainly lacks a high quality ML denoising model that would visually clean up noise without glaring regressions that we can see in samples.”

you can turn it back on by doing setprop persist.camera.api1.isp_off false if you REALLY want

Simplest comparison

Noise, yes, but THE DETAILS

Ok, fhats fine. Now i can choose to disable noise when i need details and enable noise for pictures which i want to share with others. Miami camera is not powerful enough to get perfect results, so i like the denoised in darker light situations more.

You can always denoise it in like gimp and do much better job than the inbuilt algorithm

nice work on the camera! after this update though, my airpods somewhat stopped working. the mic seems to be fine, but they don’t play audio anymore.. i tried reconnecting them and rebooting the device a few times, but that did nothing. they worked fine on 5.1.0.11 before the camera update.

looking through journalctl while going connecting them and playing music and such, i can find this, which might be relevant?

I can tell you for sure my changes did not cause that, but as to what caused that, I have no clue sorry
