microG Authentication failing

I have been trying for a few our to add my Google Account to microG on AppSupport without much success. microG itself answers a generic “there was a problem reaching google servers".
I tried with device spoofing, I tried changing the device, I tried switch more or less any option I found in microG and saw discussed somewhere in relation to authentication issues without much success.

I also tried adding my account to Aurora Store and that at least gives me an error message “Could not generate AAS Token”.

Is it a know issue? Any workaround? Many of the apps I used and would like to reuse on SailfishOS have been authenticated with Google Account, and thus I’m unable to access them until I can add my account to microG

Perhaps you start with some information: phone, SFOS-Version, MicroG-Version…

I was wondering if in general it’s known the accounts support in microG has problems or not, independently from the specific problem might causing issues to my own phone.

But yes, happy to provide all info needed to debug it.

I’m on a Sony Xperia 10 III, SailfishOS 5.0.0.72, AppSupport Android 11 (version 2.3.0 I think), microG version 0.3.11.250932

Attempts done so far:

  • Enable/Disable device registration
  • Enable/Disable “Authenticate with device registration”
  • Enable/Disable “Strip device name for authentication”
  • Device Authentication profile Auto and profile Google Nexus 5X

Aurora Store can authenticate if I disable “Use microG to sign in to accounts”, otherwise it falls

In all cases microG does:

  • Accept username+password
  • Ask me to verify in other device by accepting via notification (which succeeds)
  • Ask me if I’m going to use the device or if a kid is going to (I pick myself)
  • Ask me to accept terms of service
  • Fail with “there was a problem communicating with Google servers. Try again later”

Anything else I can provide I’m happy to share it

Have you checked if microG’s Github repostory has any reports for problems or work arounds with login?
