(media player) how to read wavpack and ape files

As i already told here, it’s not a matter of quality, i only use (and even rarely) the phone to listen to music in my car, and while i don’t want to listen to 128 mp3, i don’t need bit to bit quality

I am happy with flacs and if i want something nicer, i have my records and an hi-fi system with almost every component you can think of

The problem lies in the fact that i copied some files in the phone (the jp2026) and the phone wasn’t reading them

I didn’t even know what files were those, for two simple reasons

1 i have 5 tb on my computer so space is not a problem
2 my computer can play those files just fine and considering the phone is a 2026 linux phone and even using gstreamer and ffmpeg i thought it would have been no problem to play then

Let’s say i can’t remember to convert every single file i have

So, i installed the gstreamer pack and it worked perfectly, so wavpack is solved

As for ape, switching ffmpeg requires too many dependencies (not your fault of course) like libbluray and similar, and imho it’s not worth the hassle

So unless there is a way which involves less dependencies i might just convert the files…

Althought i still stand by my idea that jolla should provide those codecs by themself…
