Hi,

Hi,

I have no idea what is this application so could be interesting to have more details. Is this related to “FreeStyle Librelink”? So likely an Android application? I do not have Freestyle gadgets so cannot test.
If it needs Bluetooth, it does not work currently but Jolla will soon provide a package which allows Android application to use Bluetooth connections (apart from Bluetooth audio which already works).
Wow, bad case of customer deception, what in this app is “libre”?
I was interested to look for details based on the name indeed ![]()
Yes, its the FreeStyle LibreLink. It uses Bluetooth and NFC. The NFC is used to trigger the connection between the sensor on my arm and the app. Updates are pushed via Bluetooth when it has a stable connection. Otherwise you have to rescan the sensor.
It wouldn’t be the end of the world if BT doesn’t work, but the NFC is mandatory.
So not many diabetics are using Sailfish ![]()
You are “libre” to use it.
So it will not work, NFC in AAS is not within reach. Problem for Diabetics is that device producers don’t provide open APIs, other wise it would be easy to make native client apps
Thank you for your answer.
It is not a gadget. Well, one can use it for fun, but most of the users need it in cases of diabetes.
The sensor and the system is called “Libre” because it offers much more freedom than having to prick the finger to extract a drop of blood in order to measure the blood sugar level every time the person has/wants to eat something.
With the measured value, another device, or the user, can send the correct amount of insulin to allow assimilation of the eaten carbohydrates.
True that it would be excellent if the protocol were open in order to use them in Sailfish.
In the mean time, let’s hope that bluetooth will work nicely in Android App Support, as well as, perhaps NFC, one day.
