Jolla Phone TAC IMEI

Hello Jolla Staff.

I have ordered a Jolla J2 for Australia. I am optimistic it will work as it is international 5g support. I have read elsewhere on this forum that Australian telcos have a habit of TAC ‘Type Allocation Code’ blocking unique/uncommon devices. I was hopping Jolla staff or a knowledgeable user can provide me with the Jolla J2 TAC IMEI. With this information i can contact Telstra, Optus, Vodafone to ensure the J2 does not get tac blocked. Participation of Jolla in this communication would be invaluable. Even though jolla is sometimes characterised as niche enthusiasts device, I think it will take root here in Australia. Australians are becoming more and more concerned about digital privacy.

J2 TAC (first 8 digits of IMEI) is 35 26 39 70.

Edit: and for clarity; I’m not part of Jolla Staff, just owning J2 phone…

In settings, touch “About device” (or product, mine is in French). You’ll get the IMEI of both sim slots. The TAC is the first 8 digits.

I dont have my j2 yet. Im in batch 5 so have a while to wait for production yet. Does yours work well in France?

That website does not contain an exhaustive list of devices. It is based on user input.

If you can’t find it, it means nobody with a Jolla phone in Australia has documented their experience on that website yet.

Yes i thought so. I wonder if anyone has used a j2 in Australia yet?
