Jolla[2026] how to increase icon size, bluetooth & Sony WH-ch520 not connecting

The new Jolla 2026 works fine. But I have some (maybe small) problems:

  1. The icon size is too small for my old (78 years) eyes.

    Same problem I had with Jolla C2 but could be solved with this help: “dconf write /desktop/sailfish/silica/icon_size_louncher <parameter 151>”

    parameter values

    100 → 5 icons on one row

    151 → 4 large icons

    The above command has no effect in Jolla[2026].

    Four icons in a row would be fine.

  2. Sony wireless headphone WH-CH520 is not found with bluetooth of Jolla[2026]. My good old Jolla (xperia 10 III) detects all BT devices immediately. My LG HBS-FN6 earbuds connects without problems.

Are you sure you typed it correctly? And where these numbers come from? Are they in predetermined steps, or can the user enter any number and depending on the screen resolution, things will or won’t happen?

The info I found from Jolla C2 questions.

I simply copied the command as is. Not exactly the whole story because the text I have is only as picture (used screen copy with my iPad.)

Thank you @dumol, with 121 , i got back the feeling of my Xa2. So, to summerize, to get 4 larger icons rather than 5 smaller on my C2 screen i opened a terminal in devel-su mode and entered
dconf write /desktop/sailfish/silica/icon_size_launcher 121
And restarted my phone.
Not sure whether the unit of this number is in pixel or a % of the default size. I think with 100 you reset the display to 5 small default icons of the C2.
151 lead to 4 large icons filling almost completly the row and thus not beautiful.
121 was for me a good trade off.

Well. I tried again. No effect.

Are you sure the headphones are in pairing mode? Otherwise connections can only be made from devices that connected before.

From the bluetooth top menu, did you choose search for devices? SFOS will not actively search for devices unless specifically told.

If both yes at the same time, please try again with a fresly rebooted phone.

Please share your results.

Did you type louncher or launcher and did you remember to reboot the phone?

dconf write /desktop/sailfish/silica/icon_size_launcher 121
And reboot.

you could install Muoto UI Themer, it has UI scaling setting option (makes everything bigger, both text and buttons )

Do it as user and use 151 - it’s 4x8. 100 is 6x10, didn’t try others.

Restarting the UI is enough.

Thanks for exellent help. Installed Muoto Ui Themer and could find good combination.
Now I wonder why these helper apps are not listed somewhere in one place
Or am I the only one who has not found them.

Indeed, I thought this too at first J2 sight.

XA2 had a much more natural icon sizing for its screen size.

151 seems natural for J2 screen size, gonna test with this for a while! :chart_increasing:
