Hi, sorry to bother but i got interested in Yottagram but can’t seem to install it. Downloaded the RPM from OpenRepo’s and tried to install from file manager (on Jolla C2). “Problem with installing yottagram” and that’s all. How did you guys do it or what could i do to make it work (to install)?
you probably need the aarch64 build not armv7.
I’m generally using Storeman to install apps from OpenRepos, because it resolves all dependencies automatically.
Oh my, i used to install RPM’s on Jolla One. I forgot that Jolla C2 is an ARM phone. I will try the aarch64 package now! ![]()
Oh yes it worked! I wish Yottagram could be in Jolla Store, so be easiest and most convenient for everyone. These packages (and their naming schemes) sure can be confusing sometimes even for a seasoned user!
This is an amazing tip! Will get Storeman right away! Thanks alot! Would be amazing if also this could be in Jolla Store to just tap to install, rite
Edit:
Looks like same problem occurs. It looks like it at first installed, but nothing appeared on app list. Then i tried again and got simply this:
You could try installing it from the command line. It probably won’t work either but you may see some better error messages.
Should go something like that:
devel-su pkcon install-local your_storeman_package.rpm
No i got it installed now!
It was installing in the background still apparently as i was trying to install (on top of it again as it was working the installation afaik. There was NO installation progress indicator bar of any kind). Maybe a development idea for such installation progress indicator before Jolla Phone released ![]()
Even more generally if you are downloading individual package files manually on a Linux system with package/repository management, you’re doing it wrong 95% of the time.
How can I manage my personal data with Yotagram? I want to set new avatar or edit my phone number.
I can’t find those possibilities under settings.

You mean WITHOUT package/repository management i assume? A typo?
I don’t believe Yottagram provides those settings. With Fernscheiber you can change many more settings, including your avatar, but Yottagram has now overtaken Fernschreiber in terms of functionality. I tend to have both on my phone and use whichever I need for what I’m trying to do.
No. I mean it as I wrote.
If there is package management, downloading rpms manually is wrong.
Right. But Yottagram is not available via Jolla Store or other package management, so. There is no other way is there? I’m confused (is there some other preferred way to get this app?).

It’s available at Openrepos.
That means you can add its repo manually (using ssu ar), OR use Storeman, the preferred Openrepos UI:
openrepos.net
Now, to install Storeman Installer you do need to download and install an RPM file manually - that’s one of the 5% cases ![]()
OK, so now that i already do have Storeman installed, i suppose imma reinstall Yottagram from there! Thanks for pointing it out it’s there.
I hope the official Jolla Store would catch up with apps such as these. Quite essential, and many new users have no clue about these other stores nor where to kinda even look

No wonder people think Sailfish has no apps if they only look at the Jolla Store.
Most newer apps don’t show up there at all, or display a message asking users to install them from OpenRepos or Chum because the Store is so restrictive.
For example, you can’t have a background process (which is very useful for apps such as Telegram or Signal), yet it’s perfectly acceptable for an Android app to run one on Sailfish. That’s completely bonkers.
Please have a look here – this explains where and how to get apps from which stores and how to get those stores:

Unfortunately, yottagram is not available in the openrepos ‘store’ anymore after having updated my Jolla C2 to SfOS 5.0.0.76. Maybeacomöatibklty issue?
