I forgot my encryption code (a phrase, not numbers) on my XZ2 device and cannot acces the device anymore. Is it possible to reflash or to bypass the encryption in any way? I think it is not the same encrytion Jolla uses, am I right?
Of course.
Search and you shall find. Mostly applicable for numeric codes though.
Just do it. It will save you eons of time. 
But of course, back up your home partition. That will save you another eon.

This is a whole point of encryption - you shouldn’t be able to crack it. On XZ2, I guess you used HW backed key generation. Which makes it basically impossible to break unless you know some hw/driver issue or have a very limited passkey options (latter is not really “breaking” but more like “remembering”). When encrypting with the community encryption, we recommend to write down the second key - long text key generated for these cases. Probably it was not done in this case.

Thx for your answer, I reflashed … . It wasn’t my main phone so I did the istall and setup from scratch. Next time (there won’t be, I learned my lesson) I’ll try recovery … .
