Gemini PDA Sailfish os installation

Hi there. Just got a 4G Gemini PDA and was trying to flash last Sailfish os image on dual boot on partition one as requested but does not boot. Still can boot android on partition 3 with silver button pressed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

If I remember correctly there is an issue trying to flash later SailfishOS image(s) from scratch rather than updating it. As mine has a flat battery through lack of use, I can’t even remember what version it is currently running unfortunately. I found that with Dual boot it was very difficult to get the button timing just right to boot into Android. It is so easy to brick this device with NVRAM issues.

I used the sailfish image from Jolla shop Planet Computers Gemini PDA (x25, x27) Sailfish OS 4.6.0.15, last supported version
It needs to be flashed on the 1st partition but can’t boot on single flash nor dualboot. Android boots fine on 2nd partition

PS: i can’t find older images to test them

Resource with old images not with me at the moment to look. Have you come across this resource for all things Sailfish on GeminiPDA? https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?topic=35517.0

Sadly there are no seeds from the available torrents i find

Accidently erased IMEI after several flashing. I made a NVRAM backup. How can i restore it? Thanks

I had the same problem with mine, but got it restored somehow (it was 7 years ago or so)
Have you tried to flash stock android image first?

Mediatek was always a mess in term of flashing. 2 partitions need to be recovered or something like that. Maybe ask @olf ? I can remember he had GeminiPDA couple of years ago.

@deutch1976

Think this covers it using SPFlashtool:

However maybe not quite correct procedure according to this user:

I did flashed stock android. Now have the problem off missing IMEI

… which likely also has a absolutely flat battery: I missed to recharge it regularly (and my F(x)tec Pro 1, too), hence I am already watching this thread to be able to revive my GeminiPDA when I search for it.

Likewise had left GeminiPDA in a drawer but fortunately elicited a RED 0% in SailfishOS when plugging it in and slowly recovered after quite a while.

Glad that part worked for you, managed to update mine to last version. Sorry no first hand experience to advise you further with this issue unfortunately.
