As pointed out in Switching between 2 apps more easilly (eg password manager) some apps dont share a screenshot or sfos is not able to do one or the screenshot is that generic that you can not easilly recognize what app that is…
Therefore i suggest thst at least in the upper corners of the app window the start icon is placed as well so that ypu always know where you should klick if you want an app to open
Have you gotten to the bottom of what causes that?
I have used SFOS since always, and never had that problem.
I don’t think added features should be made to work around bugs.
That will look very crowded and cluttered. It does not seem like a nice solution.
I seem to recall the was a patch for this, for people who don’t mind clutter.
I think the patch showed ONLY the launch button, so less cluttered than app screen in miniature
No until now I did not. I suppose it has to do with app support for android. But as in the other thread: all tests to fix it fail.
BUT since my eyes might not be in such a good shape as yours I generally can’t find the apps easily even with the ones that are rendered right. Therefore I am doing an FR.
My implementation suggestion is absolutely not to be met by jolla since I believe they have better ux guys than I am. I leave it with them if they want to handle and how… I give them my opinion that through my eyes it is not the optimum as it is AND
Yes if it is a bug it should be fixed. But when I am the only one who sees this it might not be one…
Perhaps if you have really strange apps. Did you try with something bog-standard like say Firefox?

If I understand correctly this is mainly about Android apps and their Covers, (which sometimes appear blank or black), and not generally about the covers of native apps?
I have encountered this problem with a native app too, from Storeman. The app is hidden on the screen with running apps. But I can click on it, and it pops right up. Very strange. I thing it is the app developer that has missed something in the program.
There used to be this patch that changed android app covers to app icons. Could be kind of cool if something similar could be configured on each app individually since someone might also want to hide app contents on home screen for privacy reasons while wanting to see contents of other apps or if some app is known to show black screen there this could also be applied.
Other solution could be to show app name and/or icon on the top or bottom of each apps cover. This might not actually be that huge waste of screen space since different screen sizes can have kind of wasted space as shown in this thread. Though native apps should be designed in a way that makes that pointless.
Since I sometimes with the very tiny screenshots I can not figure out what that should be I would say both. But there is also a bug? that makes it even worse…
