Can we say the boss is back? It’s been such a long time since you last wrote—I’m genuinely surprised. 
Maybe would be good to give a tip for those phone accessories selling companies (?). Of course requires business case for them but if/when JP2 starts to be more common phone, they will be interested most likely.
You could get someone on etsy or equiv. to make a custom case. I will probably do that as soon as I have the phone in hand for exact measurements. Might need to grow an extra spleen to sell first though.

What did you have to modify? Can you show photos?
Photos under the protective cover - subject.
In short. Make holes to tpu for fingerprint, privacy sw, and one at the top ( mic ?)
Volume works ok with this cover .
And at the back the flash is just covered , needs lense opening needs enlargement a bit

Try to find a wallet case of similar size (gsmarena search?) and then modify case that it fits, tape/rubber band/holes for buttons/etc. I suppose Samsung A51 or A32 4G (not 5G!) are similar size as J2 ( 158 x 74 x 9 mm ) . Maybe not an ideal case but better than nothing.
Shame there is no price for pointing out grandpa is rambling, you’d deserve one.

I don’t post stuff because having dailied sfos since droid in a window solutions made the Nexus 4 port viable back in 2015 or so I have yet to find an issue I couldn’t find an answer to and see no point in parrotting the solutions or lack thereof to everyone posting a question before searching.
