Delay when calling from contacts app

REPRODUCIBILITY: Often
OS VERSION: 4.5.0.24
HARDWARE: Xperia 10 II
UI LANGUAGE: Finnish
REGRESSION: Not tested

DESCRIPTION:

When I call from Contacts app, very often there is several seconds delay before calling starts. Also the calling UI is not seen. Often the call cannot be switched off also.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Call from Contacts app

EXPECTED RESULT:

Calling UI pops up immidiately and I can e.g. stop calling from the UI.

ACTUAL RESULT:

Call starts delayed, often no UI seen to stop calling.

MODIFICATIONS:

MicroG installed
Fdroid installed
Aurora Store installed
Some Android apps installed

Hey,
i also see this behavior quite often. You phone somebody and the phone call starts quite delayed, you will see the calling screen and the ringing quite late.

I don’t initiate calls from Contacts app, but my sister does, and she asks me about the “missing phone view” every now and then… I assume it’s the described thing. She runs X10II with 4.4 still.

Are you guys using VoLTE? 2G? 3G?

I can’t reproduce with the ‘Voice/Calling’ SIM set to 2G.

I use Prefer 4G setting.

I also have 4G calling(beta) enabled. I will switch that off.

I have not seen the bug after switching 4G calling(beta) off. I’ll switch it on and report if the bug reappears.
