Clearing clipboard causes Whatsapp to crash

REPRODUCIBILITY : 50/50 (sometimes crashes to cover, sometimes app closes completely)
BUILD ID = OS VERSION: Pallas 3.4.0.24
HARDWARE: Jolla1
UI LANGUAGE: English
REGRESSION: YES

DESCRIPTION:

While writing a message in Whatsapp, I accidentally tapped clipboard, this pasted a lot of code into my Whatsapp text. After manually deleting the unwanted code, I decided to clear clipboard. This action promptly crashed Whatsapp, not back to cover but completely closed it.

PRECONDITIONS:

Have Whatsapp version (2.20.195.16) installed on latest SailfishOS (3.4.0.24)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open Whatsapp ,
  2. respond to an existing message,
  3. edit your message however,
  4. clear clipboard while replying.

EXPECTED RESULT:

Not to lose the entire contents of my reply or to see the app vanish display

ACTUAL RESULT:

After the total crash, Whatsapp needs to be restarted, but it does not restart when asked. Restarting Lipstick then allows Whatsapp to open again.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Apparently this was a problem back in 2014; https://together.jolla.com/question/71900/cleaning-of-clipboard-crashes-android-apps/?sort=votes&page=1

I couldn’t reproduce this at least with small amount of stuff on clipboard, does this require lots of stuff on clipboard? Running on Xperia XA2 running with the latest WhatsApp 2.20.206.24 and Sailfish 3.4.0.24.

It’s also possible that this issue is related to the older aliendalvik?
