REPRODUCIBILITY : 50/50 (sometimes crashes to cover, sometimes app closes completely)
BUILD ID = OS VERSION: Pallas 184.108.40.206
UI LANGUAGE: English
While writing a message in Whatsapp, I accidentally tapped clipboard, this pasted a lot of code into my Whatsapp text. After manually deleting the unwanted code, I decided to clear clipboard. This action promptly crashed Whatsapp, not back to cover but completely closed it.
Have Whatsapp version (220.127.116.11) installed on latest SailfishOS (18.104.22.168)
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Open Whatsapp ,
- respond to an existing message,
- edit your message however,
- clear clipboard while replying.
Not to lose the entire contents of my reply or to see the app vanish display
After the total crash, Whatsapp needs to be restarted, but it does not restart when asked. Restarting Lipstick then allows Whatsapp to open again.
Apparently this was a problem back in 2014; https://together.jolla.com/question/71900/cleaning-of-clipboard-crashes-android-apps/?sort=votes&page=1
