REGRESSION: Yes (previously had MMS working on an old (2013?) Jolla phone (no longer functioning in any way) with same provider.
DESCRIPTION:
Attempting to send or receive MMS images on telenor network fails. The MMS attempt sits for a while until eventually an error is received.
MMS log utility from openrepos (needed to get ANY useful initial troubleshooting) reported:
[mms-ofono] Activating /ril_0/context2
[mms-ofono] ERROR: GDBUS.Error:org.ofono:Error.Failed: Operation failed
[mms-ofono] Giving up on /ril_0/context2
Ofono logs (via journalctl) show:
ofonod[573]: src/slot-manager.c:slot_manager_dbus_set_mms_imsi() No MMS sim
ofonod[573]: src/slot-manager.c:slot_manager_update_modem_paths() No MMS data SIM
PRECONDITIONS:
Account with telenor or a network that uses them (e.g. CBB) may be needed.
Gemini PDA may be needed.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Try to send/receive MMS.
- Wait in vain.
- Sigh and go on with your day without MMS functionality. (see description for some possibly useful details)
EXPECTED RESULT:
MMS should be sent or received.
ACTUAL RESULT:
Attempt times out eventually, giving a message that the MMS failed to send or receive.
MODIFICATIONS:
When problem initially occurred, no custom repos were present. Since then, Openrepos and its MMS logger have been added as obtaining any sort of starting point in troubleshooting without them was an exercise in frustration.
