Itsme asnwered me very kindly but they mention that they cannot do anythink as they only support iOS and Android. I suppose we will need to wait until we reach a significant presenceā¦if it ever happens.
Here an excerpt of their answer āEven though it is not rooted, our system detects too many incompatibilities in your caseā. Of course one could be surprised about this because the previous version of the ITSME APP worked fine (no changes on the Sailfish OS side) but Iām not an expertā¦
The anoying point is that I cannot change anymore my phone number to the professional oneā¦because I cannot access the menu inside the APP in my personal phone to do it ![]()
Is it an option to install that older version of itsme?
Also, Iām inclined to think we should focus our efforts on MyGov rather than Itsme. Digital sovereignty concerns should have greater purchase with a government than a private organisation.
I agree. MyGov needs to get the same treatment, but I havenāt ever tried that before and Itsme is currently a de-facto standard and a monopoly. That, and generally the people of Itsme that I have dealt with in the past do have some moral compass, and do have reasons to stay in the clear regarding digital sovereignty concerns.
While I am not yet a sailfish os user (I currently use graphene os) I can most positively say both MyGov and Itsme ceased working after working the last 3 years after the last updates. This was the reason I started investigating Jolla phone. Same reason (rooted phone), so I am keeping a close eye on this thread (hoping for a solution, as Jolla was my last hope for a serious privacy respecting solution)
Via another thread started asking app developers if they are interested in providing native SFOS versions. Most likely they wonāt, but if you donāt askā¦. see Requesting native SFOS apps from app providers - #37 by fingus
I also send a request to Its-me, the more people that ask, the higher the chance something happens. They do seem to be noticing us given their reply.
āThis is a request that recently started popping up. We can confirm that it is on the radar of our team and are actively acting on it, so it for sure something we intent to work on in the future. More we cannot share at the moment though.ā
I do suspect they will focus on ensuring it works via Android App Support, but that would already be great.
Yep. I think Iād rather have that constrained to an Android container than have it as native Sailfish app, even. I prefer keeping the Sailfish space Sailfishy, free, and open. AppSupport may contain all the ugly stuff ![]()
A miracle happened, itsme works fine now, I noticed it starting this week. Belfius bank would be next on my whishlist.
Please let us know your experience with Belfius app. Thank you very much
Same here since the update. I wrote them a message, as they told me last time to keep the informed if new issues happened.
Here it doesnāt and I did notget a reply from them yetā¦
Regarding BANK APPS, ING and BNP work fine
If Itsme is really operational this is a major milestone, but I will wait a few more days before shifting again my acountā¦What about MyGov ? I think yo remeber that the issue in this case was linked to the Android 15 version ? If yes do we know when Jolla will upgrade to 16 ?
Ack, Belfius works as well under appsupport. Had to set ptrace to classic mode as per Tomās comment on Belfius Mobile - SailfishOS Compatibility
Tom here, it has stopped working since I updated the app yesterday, claiming that my device is rooted. So donāt update as long as it works!
Same. ItsMe no longer working version 4.31.1
Today someone from Itsme phoned me to ask about the particulars of the app not working (a reaction to my ticket I re-opened last week). Seems like they really want to try to get our jolla phones on board⦠. There will warn me when the new update comes up so I can try it.
Hello bank works too, but do not scan qr codes - with qr code not supported message. ;(;(;(
Today I got this folow up email - sad story ⦠. Itās out of their hands, the problem is with DexGuard and they wonāt budge ā¦.
Hallo Xxx, *
*
De error komt deze keer niet van onze back end, maar wordt getriggerd door DexGuard, de software die we gebruiken om security checks uit te voeren.
We hebben hen vandaag gecontacteerd en een update gekregen:
Jolla phones run on Sailfish OS, which is also maintained and developed by Jolla, itself. DexGuard does not officially support Sailfish OS. If a protected application works, it would be by accident and could break again at any point in the future. Investigating compatibility with Sailfish OS is not on our product roadmap at this time.
Helaas kunnen we momenteel dus niet garanderen dat itsme zal werken op SailfishOS, en zal je om itsme te gebruiken een ander toestel moeten inschakelen. *
*
Onze excuses voor het ongemak.*
*
Met vriendelijke groeten,*
Xxxxxx
That is too bad, contacted Guardsquare, developers of DexGuard if they might consider supporting SFOS via AAS.
