You don’t need to reinstall, just reset in android settings and give again your personal information.
Good to know (well, that’s pretty obvious actually…), at least you don’t need to dig up the version number again.
So I guess it updates something from their backend that causes it stop working, I wonder if there’s some way to block that… (or a way to just erase that particular part)
I copied the entire data directory to my home dir now, so next time it happens I can compare what happens and figure out what to do to make it work again without having to login again.
@pauligrinder What directory did you save?
/home/defaultuser/android_storage/Android/data/fi.danskebank.mobilepay/cache
seems to be empty on my phone.
/home/.appsupport/instance/defaultuser/data/data/fi.danskebank.mobilepay/
You need to be root to find it.
But unfortunately I couldn’t for example restore an old version, after doing that the app doesn’t start at all.
But, AI found out that there’s something called togglr that gives it a flag that blocks usage - it refused to help figure out a way to block it, but at least it’s a start.
Hello.
I have tested many banks.
First to be honest, I do think that the separation by country makes less sense, especially since some european banks have a wide coverage. ING, revolut, N26, trade republic…
I would rather have
- Bank
- App
- Description
- App
I understand that if the objective is to find alternative banks for our country, this might not work. Maybe we can add the countries in which the bank operates like (UK, FR, DE)
of the specific case of France, I would recommend to gather together CEA (Caisse d’Epargne des Alpes) and CEAL (Caisse d’Epargne Auvergne Limousin) under the name of “Caisse d’epargne”. Indeed they are all regional subsidiaries that all use the same app, banxo.
Here is my report:

Yes I started this so that we can exchange experiences of banking apps. I’ve had to live with some quirks of the banking apps I use and while selling my house I started looking for a better bank.
This list now works as inended. I can compare the range of banks in my market area. It is however not practical for everything. If you want to analyse the state of banking apps for SailfishOS it’s close to useless in this form.
Some banks engage in more than one market area. Still you can’t guarantee that their apps are the same across markets. If I’m considering Danske bank in Finland it doesn’t necessary help me to know how their apps in Denmark work.
There might be some banks that only work on the Internet. I mean banks that don’t exist physically in any country. If they have apps that are the same everywhere it could be reasonable to have a country: “The Internet”. I’m however afraid that that would lead to many banks being reported as internet banks even tough they have a presence in some market area.
I totally agree. In Finland there are also multiple savings banks. Most of them use the same app infrastructure and are sorted under Säästöpankki / Sparbanken. If nobody objects I will merge the french savings banks in a few days.
I am really pleasantly surprised by this one, first direct banking app UK working 100% ![]()
Name of the bank: first direct
Name of the app: first direct
Version of the app: 5.22.0
Country: UK
To what extent it works (see scale at the end of the wiki-page): A1
Which SailfishOS version you are using: 5.2.0.18 (Finlayson)
Which device you are using: Jolla 2026
Hi there.
I really thought this banking discussion would be an issue on sailfish phones as many people always discuss banking apps. But my experience so far in France is flawless. I am using the android apps of Crédit Agricole, N26, Fortuneo and Crédit Coopératif and everything just works perfectly (ok without fingerprint but this was expected)

- Postbank
- Postbank app - works
- One Wallet - doesn’t work because there’s no way to set a secure lock on Android (Unable to set lock pin for Android apps requiring it)
- m-Token Postbank - works
- UBB
- UBB Mobile - allows logging in and setting pin, but displays message about rooted/jailbroken device afterwards and doesn’t allow access to the account
OP-mobiili problems: I accidentally upgraded op-mobile to latest v85.0.1 but it still doesn’t work.
Tried to install older version from Aurora but getting error “apk is corrupted”, any workarounds?
Also just sent email to their feedback box op-mobiili-palaute@op.fi hope pressure makes them fix their app faster.
All possible pressure is needed so thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately my knowledge doesn’t help with installing the older version ![]()
Sorry to hear! So, the “Manual download” does not produce a working .apk? I haven’t encountered this before.
In the banking app working group session we (shortly) discussed tactics on how to approach banks. The consensus was that banks see risks in non-duopoly alternatives, because community driven projects don’t offer the same kind of accountability as business entities. Messaging banks can be good, to insensitive movement in this matter and to help them understand the scale of the problem.
Yeah, not sure if its somehow related that I’m trying to downgrade it to 84.0.0 (10105).
Definitely I don’t have high hopes that banks will start building native versions for SFOS but at least I hope they stop relying so many Google apis and make their apps “independent” as possible.
I’ve successfully downgraded once. This was two weeks ago. So, this has worked in the past (atleast once
). Are you on Jolla Phone 2026 and updated to .18?
Perhaps someone with a longer experience with Aurora store can help? Sometimes there have been short temporary hickups in its operation.
(A few weeks ago there was a note that s-mobiili android app is working ok for strong verification… I think we have some consumer power that banks will respect. There was a nice article about “duopoly hidden expenses” for consumers on the guardian).
You might need to uninstall the new version first, then reinstall the old and go through the initial setup again. That’s what I did.

Got it working, just needed to uninstall op mobiili first. Aurora is so buggy ![]()
@kertzi would using Harpoon to bypass Aurora work in your situation?
Thanks for the link to the Guardian article. I am tempted to email Dame Chi Onwurah suggesting that there is an alternative to the duopoly of big tech. As her article is quite current, I will mull that option for a day or two. Whether the UK CMA would have sufficient weight to sway other countries is questionable.
