Audio cannot be heard in MS Teams conferences

REGRESSION: yes, compared to SFOS 5.1.0.11 on Xperia 10 iii

DESCRIPTION:

When trying to use MS Teams Android app in videoconferences, you can see the other side, but you cannot hear the other side even if nothing is muted and volume on the phone is up to maximum. Video works both ways.

In case of an incoming video call, only a fraction of the first tone of the signaling sound can be heard. Thereafter, Teams is completely silent.

When using MS Teams with the Xperia 10 iii with SFOS 5.1 0.11, I can hear the complete signaling sound, i.e. the signaling sound does not stop. When accepting a MS Teams video call, video and audio works both ways on the Xperia 10 iii with SFOS 5.1.0.11

PRECONDITIONS:

App Support is activated, Android App for MS Teams is installed and running

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Run MS Teams Android App on the Jolla Phone 2026 with SFOS 5.2.0.17
  2. Try to make a video call
  3. The video call works, but only video works both ways, while Audio only works one way, i.e. the other side can hear you but you cannot hear the other side

EXPECTED RESULT:

Both, video and audio should work both ways in MS Teams.

Signaling sound should not stop after a fraction of the first tone

ACTUAL RESULT:

Signaling sound stops after a fraction of the first tone

No incoming audio can be heard in MS Teams video conference

I think this is regression? I at least imagine that I have successfully used MS Teams with Xperia 10 III in 5.0. Somebody else confirming would be great.

I know I have used Teams with audio succesfully with Xperia 10 III. I can’t remember which Sailfish OS version. But that really doesn’t confirm this as a regression in Sailfish OS, it can just as well be changes in Teams which have broken it.

Ah very good point! If someone with 5.1 version could try if this work with them that would be great!

Just tested:

Xperia 10 iii, SFOS 5.1.0.11, Android MS Teams Version v1416/1.0.0.2026153102 (2026153125) → Teams is fully working, i.e. video an audio work both ways, full signaling sound can be heard

Jolla Phone 2026, SFOS 5.2.0.17, Android MS Teams Version v1416/1.0.0.2026153102 (2026153125) → Teams is not fully working, i.e. video works both ways, but audio only works one way (to the other party) and the signaling sound stops at a fraction of the first tone

So on both devices the same version of the MS Teams Android app was installed, which suggest that App Support in SFOS 5.2.0.17 is flawed

This should be fixed soon since i use daily teams for calls now it doesnt work on the Jolla phone 2

Thank you for testing! This gives clearer evidence that something with 5.2 AAS needs to be fixed

Audio can also not heard in Sportschau and heute.de app.
